SDI is an independent advisory firm based in Tokyo, working upstream of critical decisions, where judgment, timing, and institutional reading determine the outcome.
SDI was founded in 2025 by Martin Amar, following over 15 years advising ministers, boards, and senior executives across government, multilateral, private, and international environments, on high-stakes decisions requiring clear judgment under uncertainty.
The firm builds on a recurring observation: organizations are least supported upstream, when signals are still weak and decisions must be taken before options narrow and situations escalate.

SDI operates independently from development finance institutions, regulatory bodies, and corporate groups, maintaining no structural affiliations or equity relationships that could compromise its advice.
The firm brings together a team of senior practitioners. All of them have been in the room where high-stakes decisions were taken. Their experience spans public institutions, the private sector, international organizations, and complex cross-border settings.
SDI is also supported by its Advisors, senior figures who provide independent perspective and confidential counsel to the team.
